A geometric structure formed by giving a half twist to a flat rectangular strip and then joining the two ends together. A Mobius strip has only one edge and one side. This remarkable property (one side) makes it extremely useful in belt-driven machines because both sides of the belt are used evenly to reduce the wear by half.
When cut along a line parallel to the edge, only one strip is produced instead of two new strips.
